
The first of the Advanced Education seminars was conducted on May 17th and 18th, 2025, with Takis Nikolopoulos and Tomek Delega as lecturers.
The course is designated for Arbiters who wish to improve their knowledge and aim to have main Arbiters’ positions (Chief, Deputy, Sector Arbiter) in European Championships, International and National Championships and Tournaments.
This seminar included a reference to the ECU Tournament Rules, as well as a detailed presentation of the duties of the Chief Arbiter and his cooperation with all parties during the tournament (Arbiters, players, captains, organizers, etc.). Many case studies and analysis from real tournaments were presented and all participants showed a great interest.
26 Arbiters, from 21 federations from the four FIDE continents, took part in the seminar
The ECU Arbiters’ Council deeply thanks the participants who shared their enthusiasm during the seminar and sent positive feedback after the end.
The next seminar will be on September 6th and 7th, with Marco Biagioli and Ashot Vardapetyan as lecturers.
